I grew up in a little seaside town right across the ocean from Boston. As a child I would sit for hours on our rocky beach watching the swirling Boston Light be a beacon to boaters and the planes landing and taking off from Logan airport.
I honestly thought I would live in the Boston area forever.
That is till I ran into my husband ten years ago. We were married in 2000 and six years later I found myself moving away from the ocean to the mountains of Vermont. It was in the spring of 2006 with 2 young boys and one on the way, while adjusting to life in Vermont, that I began developing designs for my photo tile jewelry and founded Elemental Memories.
In 2008 we had a 4th son and through Elemental Memories I've been blessed to bring hip and funky photo jewelry to hundreds of women.

Creating photo jewelry for men has always been a bit of a puzzle for me.
Many men, though by no means all, feel uncomfortable wearing photo jewelry.
Photo cuff links, tie tacs, business card holders, and silver frame key chains, are standard fare in photo jewelry or photo gifts for men but I never really found them all that inspiring.
I wanted to create something that fit the sensibilities of the men I knew.

Then I thought oh, a little secret box! A photo tile would be perfect in one. Something great looking on the outside yet hiding something even more beautiful inside. The secret note scrolled at the top added the perfect touch to my locket for men.

Naming it after my first home, honoring the memories I carry from there, only seemed right.
...so the "Boston Locket" it became.
